Devil's Tower

Today, my roommate, Andrew, and another seasonal intern, Dustin, and I went on a road trip to take full advantage of our day off.  We headed out to Jewel Cave National Monument; Jewel Cave is the second largest cave in the world, and considering that I recommend that tourists go visit Jewel, I thought I should see what I have been giving plugs to.  The cave turned out to be pretty sweet, although my pictures didn't come out too well because it was incredibly dark.

Another highlight of the trip? Flinstone Village.

And I particularly enjoyed Mt. Saint Wilma... truly a natural gem.

Speaking of natural gems, we then headed over to Wyoming to see Devil's Tower.  I have to say that Wyoming is one of the most magnificent states I have ever seen... rolling green hills with massive rock formations... It was like being on the set of that movie... oh, what was it called? Oh yea, "Brokeback Mountain."

Devil's Tower was awesome, too.  If you've seen "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," you know what I'm talking about.  The pictures that I took don't do this monument justice... the top of it is the size of a football field, and it's about 1.3 miles around the base of it.

  1. If I saw those things hanging in the trees I'd probably crap my pants in fear. Just sayin.
