Sacagawea

Well, I'm happy to say that every day that I'm here, I genuinely love it more and more.

1. I love interacting with the people that visit... some are incredibly friendly and some are idiots... I can already tell that I'm going to have amazing stories in the weeks to come.  Right now it's still the off-season, so it hasn't been incredibly crowded, but on May 8th, there's this huge nighttime lighting ceremony where the faces get illuminated, and supposedly that kicks off the intensely busy season.

2. Today I got to speak German to two tourists from Germany! WUNDERBAR!

3. Today someone tried to tell me that FOX News was the most objective news organization in the US because it "really explores both political parties and gives the most unbiased coverage;" it was difficult trying not to fall on the floor with laughter.

4. Although it SNOWED today and the extreme winds literally knocked me over twice, I work with awesome people--they are all hysterical and we crack jokes the entire day.  All the park rangers got into a debate today over the pronunciation of "Sacagawea..." apparently there are at least six ways of pronouncing her name.  Wait until the rangers hear my "monkey v. donkey" argument... talking about pronunciation with fellow park rangers... could this job be any more perfect?

5. I have Sundays and Mondays off, so hopefully I can figure out how to head over to the Brass Rail (obviously the most poppin' club in Keystone [population: 311]).  I'd also really like to see Wyoming & Montana--very rugged, very scenic, very Brokeback.

Stay tuned!
